Eastbourne Town produced a poor performance as they tasted a 2-0 defeat at basement side Whitstable on Saturday.

Manager Danny Bloor warned against complacency ahead of the game and Town started as the brighter side.

However, the home side, who had not won until today, opened the scoring on 30 minutes through Jake Beecroft.

Town conceded the second just after half-time with a header at the far post from Scott Heard and never found a way back into the match.

Nick Fogden and Ben Austin both had goals disallowed for an infringement and offside respectively.

Town will hope to improve their form next week as they travel to Slough in the FA Cup.

TOWN: Reed, Denton (S Crabb), Austin, Fogden, Bilings, Lansdale (May) Elliot, Strevett, M Crabb, Geard, Curd (Greenfield).
