Brighton have signed Newcastle reserve ‘keeper Steve Harper and he will make his debut tonight.
The Albion’s current number one, Casper Ankergren, has come under fire from the Amex faithful and was at fault for Millwall’s equaliser in the Seagulls’ last match.
And Gustavo Poyet has signed the Newcastle player on a one-month loan.
Harper, who was understudy toShay Given for a number of years, was keen to go out on loan after losing his place Tim Krul and
slipping further down the pecking order after the Toon signed Rob Elliott.
He will make his debut tonight against West Ham and, according to his boss, the Albion have pulled off a great signing.
Alan Pardew said, “Harps is keen to play.
“It is a real coup for Brighton.”
