Hailsham Town are still looking for that elusive first point and have the chance to kick-start their season at Arundel on Saturday.
A poor start in the league, which has seen Town concede six goals in their opening two games, was compounded last weekend as they went down 1-8 in the FA Cup away to Moseley - Drew Greenall netting the only goal for the Stringers, whose boss will now be demanding a positive reaction from his players.
On Monday, Andy Goodchild’s men are back at the Beaconsfield as they welcome Rye United.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s game, manager Andy Goodchild said, “If we can cut out the mistakes and the individual errors then we will give ourselves a chance .
“I asked the players ‘how many of the Moseley goals resulted from their good play?’
“Mainly it was down to us and that’s what we have been working on in training this week.
“We have had a positive session and we are looking forward to this weekend.”
Goodchild is in advanced talks with a striker and hopes to tie up a deal next week.
