Town back in action after midweek postponement

Eastbourne Town will be looking for all three points as they return to action following their midweek postponement.

Town travel to Ramsgate this weekend having had an unexpected couple of days extra rest after their Tuesday night fixture with Godalming was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Manager Danny Bloor said, “I’m disappointed the game was called off. I’d much rather it had gone ahead but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.”

That match will now be rescheduled for a second time as the original fixture, back in the first week of December, was abandoned two minutes before the final whistle due to floodlight failure.

With no new injury concerns, Bloor will choose his squad from the same players who were available for their 0-0 draw with Folkestone Invicta last weekend.

Striker Kai Bichard, who was sent off against Folkestone for a second bookable offence, will not serve his suspension until after this weekend’s clash. Ahead of the match with Ramsgate, Bloor said, “It’ll be a tight game. It’s never an easy place to go but we look forward to travelling there.”

Ramsgate sit just six places above Eastbourne Town in the Ryman Division One South and the teams drew 1-1 when they met earlier this season.

Town head into the match having not won since the end of last year while Ramsgate’s confidence will be high following their 3-2 away win at Whyteleafe last Saturday.
