Leaders Bognor hold no fear at the Saffrons

League-leaders Bognor Regis Town pay a visit to the Saffrons this weekend in a match that Eastbourne Town manager Danny Bloor is ‘greatly looking forward to’.
Eastbourne, who have only scored six goals over the past eight matches, lost 4-0 to Bognor Regis earlier in the season, but boss Bloor insists this will not phase his team ahead of the match.
“Yes, we lost to them this season but we beat them last season. It will be a tough game but they’re all tough. We’re greatly looking forward to it.”
Bloor will have to shuffle his starting line-up from last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Ramsgate as influential pair Kai Bichard and Scott Kirkwood are both suspended.
Town head into this fixture on the back of three matches unbeaten and two consecutive clean sheets.
“We were very pleased with another clean sheet on Saturday,” Bloor said. “Hopefully we can keep another one this week and score a goal as well.”
A defeat could see Eastbourne Town drop down to 18th in Ryman Division One South. Town will, however, be given a boost by the news that Matt Percival is not too far from a return to fitness after sustaining a long-term ankle injury.
