Bloor brings former boss Colwell back to dugout

Danny Bloor, the Eastbourne Town boss, has appointed Ady Colwell to his coaching staff at the Saffrons.

Colwell, who has had a two-year break from the game, was Danny’s predecessor in the Town ‘hot seat’.

Delighted at his return, Colwell said, ‘’I am very pleased to be joining Danny’s backroom team.

“I am impressed at the way things have developed at Town, both on and off the field, and Danny’s invite to get involved with the coaching side of things was too good an opportunity to turn down.

“I watched a few games from the stands last season and I could see the progress first hand.

“With the quality of our new signings joining the bulk of last season’s playing staff, it could be a good time to be at Eastbourne Town and I am very keen to get onto the training field with the players as soon as I can’’

Bloor is pleased to have the popular Colwell on board.

He said, “Ady is a top coach, well liked and respected.

“We have always had a good relationship and I have thought about Ady being with us for a while. The timing needed to be right for us both and that time is now. I am very happy that he has agreed to join my coaching staff.

“Ady will share first team duties with Simon Gough but he will also have a brief to watch, advise and teach some of the very promising youngsters coming through our youth and reserve teams.

“Ady is a perfect fit for us and another key piece in our development plans.’’

Bloor also confirmed that Peter Haydock will manage the Reserves as they look for a third consecutive Sussex County League Reserve Division title.

Wayne Field stepped up to manage the Club’s Ryman League under 18 team. The Town’s Sussex County League under 18’s will be run by Luci Del Gaudio, who moves up from last season’s successful under 15 side.
