Eastbourne sink local rivals
Eastbourne Cricket Club put one over local rivals Hastings Priory on Saturday afternoon.
Mark Tomsett's side triumphed by seven wickets at The Saffrons to make it back-to-back victories in the Premier Division of the Sussex League.
Hastings were bowled out for just 153 after winning the toss and electing to bat with Stuart Collier taking 3-44, and Ben Brown, Ollie Ody and Tom Smith two apiece.
Sussex professionals Ragheb Aga (59 not out), Brown (28) and Smith (28 not out) then guided Eastbourne comfortably past their target.
Eastbourne are fourth in the table as the season enters its second half, but are realistically out of the title race with leaders Preston Nomads 93 points ahead of them.
Elsewhere, Seaford extended their lead in Division Three (East) to 61 points following a four-wicket success at home to bottom-of-the-table Crawley.
Seaford bowled the visitors out for 102 with Stuart Pulford taking five wickets and Tim Goddard four prior to Chris Stanyard (33) and Nick Pink (31) seeing them home.
In the same division, Hellingly fought out a high-scoring draw at home to Sidley. Scott Pearce hit 95 as Hellingly scored 267-6 before Sidley replied with 265-8.
Also in Division Three (East), Chiddingly lost by five wickets at home to Ansty having been bowled out for 188 with Kevin Ramsay making 60 and John Puttick 51.
