Eastbourne contest thrilling tie
Eastbourne Cricket Club fought out a thrilling tie away to East Grinstead on Saturday.
Both sides were all out for 170 in Eastbourne's second tie of the Sussex League Premier Division season following their opening day stalemate against Hastings Priory.
Jack Hepburn took three wickets and Ollie Ody two after Grinstead won the toss and batted, before Alex Pollard struck 46 and John Snashall 37 in reply.
Elsewhere, Seaford consolidated their 50-point lead in Division Three (East) with a 16-run triumph in a low scoring contest at home to bottom-of-the-table Chiddingly.
Seaford were bowled out for 102 having lost the toss and being put into bat, but proceeded to bowl the visitors out for 86 in reply.
Hellingly suffered a six-wicket defeat away to Ansty despite scoring 215-7 upon being inserted, Paul McDonald top-scoring with 57. David Twine took two wickets with the ball.
