Skipper Austin to take charge at Tonbridge Angels

Eastbourne Borough skipper Ben Austin will get his first taste of management when he takes charge of the side to face Tonbridge Angels tomorrow (Saturday).

Austin and senior players ran a training session on Tuesday after it became clear management duo Garry Wilson and Nick Greenwood had been dismissed.

Austin will select the team and prepare the side to face mid-table Tonbridge. Former Town manager Ady Colwell will also assist Austin.

He said, “I’m happy to take charge for the time being and see how it goes.

“It’s a very strange time at the club but I’m sure we can go to Tonbridge and try our our best.

“The only way foward is to work hard and do our best to get results on the pitch.”
