King denies interest in Boro’ job

FORMER Lewes boss and current Farnborough manager Steve King denied this week he expressed an interest in becoming Eastbourne Borough manager.

King was furious to be linked with the position and said it showed a lack of respect to current boss Garry Wilson and his employers Farnborough.

In a prepared statement King said, “I find it necessary to respond to a report linking me with the Eastbourne Borough manager’s job. This is pure speculation based on me living in Eastbourne.

“I find it disrespectful to another manager (Wilson) currently in the position.

“I can categorically say I have never approached Eastbourne Borough about the position.

“I am the manager of Farnborough and I am fully focused on getting them into the Blue Square Premier next season.”

Farnborough are second in the table, four points behind leaders Braintree after 38 matches.

King won the Blue Square South title with Lewes four seasons ago. He also had a stint as manager of Northwich Victoria.
