Good news for injured Walker

Eastbourne Borough received a welcome boost this week as it was decided that injured striker James Walker will not need surgery.

The Antigua and Barbuda international has been sidelined with a knee problem that he picked up in his World Cup qualifying debut for the Caribbean side in September.

It was expected the striker would return to action for Borough earlier this month but that return date was delayed while Walker saw a surgeon last week.

The news back from the surgeon was good and Walker is already back in light training.

Tommy Widdrington is now expecting Walker to resume full squad training in early December.
