East Dean progressed to the semi-finals of the of the Intersport Trophy after a rain affected match with Polegate.

East Dean progressed through the previous round with a convincing 10 wicket victory against Herstmonceux. Polegate progressed against Fletching by a toss of a coin.

In dreadful conditions, Polegate reached 90-9 declared with Harry Rimmer (5-16) impressive with the ball.

There were also two superb catches in the field from Miceh Reitze and Steven Edwards.

The latter being a full-length diving effort, unlikely to be bettered all season.

East Dean were behind the run-rate at the 10 over mark and Polegate would have been within their rights to abandon the match as torrential rain fell.

But a huge six from Alex Rimmer and a sensible cameo from Reitz saw East Dean ahead on the run rate when play stopped at 13 overs.
