Colliers Wood to kick off Hailsham’s season

HAILSHAM TOWN kick off their pre-season campaign this Saturday when they welcome Combined Counties League side Colliers Wood United to The Beaconsfield.

Their match with Colliers Wood is the first of two pre-season fixtures to be played at home, with the second coming the following weekend against another Combined Counties League side, Mole Valley SCR.

The matches, both kicking off at 2pm, will only cost adults £2.50 and concessions £1 to watch and see some new and familiar faces.

The Reserves will also be in action on these two dates, with their games kicking off at 4pm.

Hailsham will then start the 2012/13 Sussex County Division One campaign at home on Saturday, August 4 to last season’s Division Two Champions, East Preston, followed by a night trip to East Grinstead on Tuesday, August 7.

The following Saturday, the FA Cup adventure begins, with the Stringers playing host to Kent side Greenwich Borough - who were the first club of Arsenal legend Ian Wright. Borough finished 16th in their division last season.

In the FA Vase, it will be fellow Sussex County League Division One side Arundel who visit The Beaconsfield, while another County One side, Selsey, will visit in the first round of the Sussex Senior Cup.

Should Hailsham beat Selsey, a plum tie at home to last season’s Ryman League Champions Bognor Regis Town awaits Kenny McCreadie’s side.

Hailsham have a bye to the second round of the John O’Hara League Cup, where they will face Southwick at The Beaconsfield. Hailsham will also start in the second round in the RUR Charity Cup against Division Two newcomers Broadbridge Heath at home.

In the Reserve section, Hailsham go to Hassocks in the second round of the Reserve Challenge Cup.
