Billings and Atrill out of Rustington clash
Manager Kenny McCreadie has said his side Hailsham Town are ‘quietly confident’ ahead of Saturday’s away fixture to ninth placed side Rustington.
McCreadie, who has never visited the Rustington Recreation Ground, said, “It will be a tough game for us but we’re doing everything right, scoring goals and winning matches.”
Hailsham, who are on a five game unbeaten run, sit second in division two and are hunting promotion to the top tier of Sussex County football. The Stringers currently boast the best defence in the league with only 24 goals conceded so far this season but are still placed 17 points behind league leaders East Preston.
Town defeated Rustington 6-0 in a cup tie in November but McCreadie says he’d be happy with a 1-0 victory this time round. “I just want a win, no matter how we do it, it doesn’t matter to me” said McCreadie.
However, the manager does have some concerns as Alex Atrill and Ben Billings (pictured) are expected to miss the game with injuries. Winger Atrill will be out of action for four to six weeks following ligament damage he sustained in last weeks game against Dorking Wanderers.
