Baitup bolsters United attack
Eastbourne United have finally sealed the signing of striker Liam Baitup from Worthing United.
After six long weeks of transfer talk, the former Eastbourne Town and Hailsham United goalscorer has joined United and will be in the squad to face Mile Oak this weekend.
Manager Paul Daubeney said, “We’re delighted to finally have Liam with us as he’s a prolific goalscorer. He’s had a bit of a break from football following suspension so it’s just a matter of getting him match-fit again now.”
United will be looking to regain their recent form after a defeat to high-flying East Preston ended their ten match unbeaten streak last weekend.
Daubeney said, “We’re looking to get back on the horse after that unfortunate defeat to East Preston.
“We know a lot about Mile Oak. They like to score a few but they can leak a few too. You can get arrogant with confidence though, so although I think we have enough to win it, I am expecting a tough and tight contest.”
Besides the addition of Baitup, Daubeney will be selecting his starting line-up from the same players who were available for last Saturday’s match.
