Seagulls’ Amex nest is world’s best new ground

Brighton & Hove Albion’s £93million home has been crowd the best new sporting venue in the world.

The Amex beat off stiff competition from other new stadiums, including Juventus’ home and the National Stadium in Poland which will host the opening game of the fast-approaching European Championships.

The man behind the project, Martin Perry, said, “We were up against some very strong opposition so to win this award is a remarkable achievement and something we can all be extremely proud.”

Work has already begun on adding new seats to the stadium which will take its capacity to approaching 30,000 for the start of next season.
