Mens’ line-ups completed for club finals day

THE last men’s competition has been completed in time Eastbourne and District Indoor Bowls Club finals day when the quarter and semi-finals of the men’s fours competition were played off.

There was a cliffhanger of a game between J Hinitt, J Henty, B Henty and David Booth who dropped 3,1,2 on the last three ends to P Reynolds, J Ereira,T Howard and D Dyer to lose 23-22.

F Stevens, J White, T Boniface and J White recovered from losing 12-5 at ten ends to go on and win 23-16 against I Bratthammer, G Brown, V Smith and J Preston.

M Livesey, D Webber, C Taylor & M Taylor recorded a comfortable win against A Glenister, D Smith, A Carpenter and A Goldsmith 24-9.

Tom Dickens, D Bain, B Fuller, S Bain finished the stronger over the final stages of their game against A Maslin, J Kelvin, T Holland 7 R Davies to win 21-11.

In the semi-final Stephen Bain’s four played John White’s four. Stephen led 13-5 at ten ends and went on to reach the final with a 23-12 win.

In the last semi-final Derek Dyer’s four had a narrow lead 10-7 against Mike Taylor’s team and went on to win 27-16.-

The finals will be played this weekend - Saturday, April 14, and Sunday, April 15, as follows.

Saturday, 9.30am: Men’s Triples, Over 65 Pairs

Saturday, 2pm: Ladies Pairs; Ladies and Men’s Fours

Sunday, 9.30am: Mens Pairs and Mixed Pairs; Ralph Endeavor Pairs; Sunday, 1.30pm: Ladies Triples.; Sunday, 3pm: Ladies and Men’s Singles; Men’s Novice Singles
