Bowls trio qualify for champion of champions event

A party of Eastbourne Indoor Bowlers spent four enjoyable days bowling at Warners Bembridge.

Altogether 33 teams took part in a competition and Eastbourne had two teams reach the final stages.

Ernie and Ray Dawes, Ray Novis and Ian Coombes went on to win the event and have now qualified to play in the Champion of Champions Competition in October.

Eastbourne’s men failed to maintain their Division one status when they lost the final Sussex County league match to the Wealden IBC.

Eastbourne, who had to score eight of the available 11 points to stay up, could only muster two winning rinks to score two points.
