MOTCOMBE Gardens Bowls Club will be hosting a Fun Day this weekend.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 31 at the club in Old Town.

Starting at 10am until 12.30pm, the fun day will have target bowls, castle bowls, tombola and a raffle, as well as a barbeque, home-made cakes and hot drinks.

Meanwhile, Parade Bowls Club are holding a fête next weekend to try and tempt newcomers into the game.

Taking place at the Redoubt on the seafront on Sunday, July 29, visitors will have the chance to give the sport a go, which organisers hope will attract a number of new participants from a wide range of ages.

The event will take place between 10am and 4pm with a variety of stalls including strawberries and cream, cakes, books, Bric a Brac, refreshments and a bar.

There will be games for all the family taking place on the greens around the Redoubt and anyone is welcome to come and take part.
