Borough pick up useful point

Eastbourne Borough stopped the rot with a 1-1 draw away to Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

Matt Crabb gave Borough a 39th minute lead, but Forest Green earned themselves a share of the spoils through a 79th minute strike by Paul Stonehouse from outside the area.

The result leaves Borough 18th in the Blue Square Premier table - five points above the four relegation places - and Forest Green third-from-bottom.

Although they've now only won one of their last 12 games in all competitions, a point at least ended a run of four successive Blue Square Premier defeats on top of the midweek FA Cup exit against lower grade Tooting & Mitcham United.

Borough: Knowles, Austin, Elphick, Pullan (Baker 16), Jenkins, Brown, Weatherstone (Taylor 82), Armstrong, M. Crabb, Fraser (Smart 67), Enver-Marum. Subs not used: Jordan, Johnson. Booked: Jenkins, Armstrong, Fraser. Attendance: 789.
