Opening batsman Luke Wells has penned a new two-year contract at Sussex Cricket Club which will see him remain at The BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground until at least the end of the 2016 season.
The 23 year-old, who was born in Eastbourne, hit 942 County Championship runs during the 2014 season at an average of 36.23. His highest score of the campaign came in the final match of the summer as he made 162 against Northamptonshire at Wantage Road.
The left-hander has scored 3,674 first-class runs since making his four-day bow during the 2010 season, including eight centuries.
Wells said of his new contract, “I’m obviously pleased to finally put pen to paper and get things sorted. I absolutely love the club and I’ve been walking round here for as long as I can remember.”
