UNDER-PRESSURE boss Ady Colwell has demanded rapid improvement from his Eastbourne Town side and told them to become tougher to beat.
Town crashed to their seventh defeat in 13 Ryman Division One South games last Saturday and bowed out of the Ryman League Cup on Wednesday (full report on page 71) to complete a miserable week.
Life doesn't get any easier in the next few days eith
er as Town face two of the division's current top four.
They travel to Walton and Hersham tomorrow (Saturday) and then host front-runners Worthing at the Saffrons on Wednesday night.
A frustrated Colwell was forced to deny rumours he quit after the 4-2 home loss to Chipstead last weekend but said he had agreed a timeframe with chairman Rupert Imich in which to turn the club's season around.
He said, "One win in 13 games is not good enough for any team and the timescale for improvement I've been given is a fair reflection of that.
"Over the course of the 13 games, I reckon we've lost six points due to individual errors.
"I make mistakes and so do the players – but we've got to try and get those mistakes down to a minimum.
"We need to make teams work harder for their opportunities. Our mistakes are making life easier for the opposition."
Colwell has snapped up 18-year-old former Hailsham Town player Tristian Jarvis, younger brother of Town midfielder Ashley, from Eastbourne Borough.
Liam Baitup (suspended) and Danny Simmonds (hamstring) miss the trip to Walton and Hersham, but 'keeper Russ Tanner has recovered from the bug which forced him out of the Chipstead game.
Ollie Rowe, Peter Featherstone and Andrew Ducille are also due to return after sitting out Wednesday's Ryman League Cup game.
