Opener Mark Tomsett will return to the side as Eastbourne welcome top-of-the-table Cuckfield to the Saffrons tomorrow.
The MCC batsman will bolster a batting attack short of Sussex stars Ragheb Aga and Ollie Rayner who will be playing for Sussex against Hampshire at Arundel.

Head coach Richard Burnett said, "It's great to have Mark back in the side. He is a talent
ed player who can make a difference to the side.

"We have a bit of momentum from winning our last two matches and we need Mark to come back and bat with responsibility."

Eastbourne's impressive nine wicket demolition of Three Bridges lifted them to fourth place in the table.

They are behind Hastings and St Leonard's Priory, Preston Nomads and 26 points adrift of leaders Cuckfield with two games in hand.

Burnett added, "We desperately want the title this year and we are in there fighting for it. We aim to win every game but it's fair to say this is an important one for us.

"It will be a big challenge for the lads as Cuckfield are a very strong side. They have a settled team and the continuity has helped them this season.

"They are strong in all areas and in Chris Moles, Jason Oatley and Jeremy Thorpe they have three top quality players."

James Kirtley and skipper Tom Smith hope to be involved despite a possible call up for Sussex's Pro 40 game on Sunday.

Ben Brown, who smashed a match winning 74 from 71 balls last week, is set to play alongside Eastbourne College First XI captain Angus Stewart.

Burnett said, "Angus did very well for us last week and he did enough to keep his place in the side."

There could also be a recall for batsman Martyn Garnett.
