Todd takes national triathlon title

Eastbourne athlete Todd Leckie has won a top national triathlon title.
The BUSA Triathlon Championships in Calne, Wiltshire, saw Todd Leckie (of Team Bodyworks XTC and the University of Brighton Panthers) win the BUSA Triathlon title and with it qualification for the World University Championships.

The second year medical student romped to victory over athletes from Universities across Britain including Loughborough, Bath, Swansea, Stirling and Birmingham Universities.

Todd pushed last year's winner into the silver medal position becoming the first individual winner for BUSA Triathlon titles from The University of Brighton.

He follows in the footsteps of fellow University of Brighton and Team Bodyworks XTC member Tom Sargent who won the BUSA Lightweight Indoor Rowing Championships in 2003.

Team Bodyworks XTC athletes have also been competing at various events around the South East.

At the Hillingdon Duathlon Patrick Hough and Jago Leckie finished second and fourthin their respective categories.

Monty Wilson opened his track running account with a 2.17 800m opener whileIzzy Cook ran a 4.10 1200m on the track. Sam Hunt took 5th overall in the Thames Turbo Triathlon winning the 17/19 category on the way with a personal best on the course by over 2mins. Rebecca Elphick posted a 2.43 for her first 800m.
