Eastbourne Cricket Club vice captain Martyn Garnett hopes their new overseas signing can inspire the side to Sussex title glory.
West Indian all rounder Londis Lewis is expected to make his debut at the Saffrons tomorrow against Three Bridges and Garnett believes the new man has the talent to be a huge success.

"He is a hard hitting all rounder who can score runs quickly. He also bowls with a lot of pace and I think he will be a very good signing for us. It's a good time to bring him into the side."

Eastbourne are currently in sixth place in league and have nine games to go.

They are 27 points behind leaders Hastings who have played two matches more.

Defeat for Three Bridges tomorrow would virtually rule out their title challenge and leave Eastbourne, Hastings, Preston Nomads, Cuckfield and Horsham to fight for the title.

With three home games coming up Garnett insists now is the time to find some consistency.

"We have been classic Eastbourne this season. We have so much talent in the side but we never seem to put it together at the same time.

"Only one person will perform and sometimes that is not good enough. We are still in a good position and we still believe we can win the league.

We have three home games coming up and if we can win those I'm sure we will be up there.

"As ever we will be looking for maximum points tomorrow."

Eastbourne hope to have in form skipper Tom Smith and Sussex stars Ollie Rayner, Ben Brown and Ragheb Aga available for selection.
