After a brilliant qualifying round at the Sovereign Centre the Moira House Girls' Swimming Team await confirmation of places in the IAPS National finals on Saturday, May 15.
In an exciting competition with Bodiam Manor, Brighton College, St Bede's, St Andrews and Vine Hall the girls won the Small Schools relay, the U10 and U11 freestyle and medley relays as well as the Small Schools relay.
In the Individual events, Jessica Brialey came first in the U10 Freestyle despite swimming up a year, and Chloe Hughes won the 25m Fly, taking two seconds off her previous personal best time.
In the U11 age group, Lauren Davison won the breaststroke and Liliana Winn won the backstroke taking an astounding three seconds off her previous best time.
They have received confirmation of all their qualifying times and know that all of their swims complied with ASA regulations. They now await the times to come through from all of the other regions to find out if they have achieved a place in the finals.
This has been an exceptional year for the junior girls so far. They have won the Eastbourne College Junior Schools' Cup, and the Headmaster's Trophy as well as the St Andrew's Challenge Cup. They are also looking forward to taking part in the Sussex Schools Relay Championships later this month.
