TEENAGE members of Seaford Youth Forum are hoping printed hoodies will raise the profile of the town's youth council and encourage other youngsters to get involved.
Seaford Youth Forum has seven members between the age of 13 and 18 who discuss a range of youth issues in Seaford.
The group has recently been successful in securing funding from The Youth Opportunity Fund and the National Lottery for a proposed skate park in the town and has also been instrumental in the development of youth shelter The Base.
But their most recent achievement is getting funding for printed hoodies from Seaford Community Partnership.
Jay Penfold, youth forum co-ordinator, said, "The idea behind the hoodies is to raise the profile of the youth forum and encourage other young people to have a voice and the chance to discuss issues in Seaford.
"The new hoodies already seem to be working well because the members of the youth forum wear them in their leisure time and they wear them to the meetings too.
"Not many young people go in to the council offices so people will often ask what it is all about."
Members of Seaford Youth Forum consult with the council on youth-related issues and the group meets every Monday evening at the new town hall between 6pm and 7pm.
"Seaford Town Council is really accommodating and supportive," said Jay.
"The relationship between the youth forum and the town council is great because it means the young people can bring up issues that are important to them."
Anyone interested in joining Seaford Youth Forum can go to the meetings on Monday evenings or phone Jay on 07912 983430.
