A SUPPORT group has been set up for people in Seaford with Multiple Sclerosis.
Eastbourne and South Wealden MS Society recognised that there was a significant number of people in the town with the neurological condition.
Contact with sufferers in Seaford was made by Susan Austin who leads the Eastbourne outreach support group
for the MS Society.
But such was the level of response that a separate group has now been set up specifically for Seaford people.
There are currently around 14 people involved in the group which holds regular lunch meetings at various local locations.
Through liaison with the Eastbourne MS Resource Centre, support and advice is available on a range of issues.
Anyone in Seaford affected by MS can ring 439447 for more information.
MS Society chairman Bernard Curtis said, "It is good to see people of all ages affected by MS coming together as a support group in Seaford.
"We want to send out a message that if you are affected by MS and live in Seaford – you are not alone.
"The group has been set up not only for people with MS but also for carers. Supporting one another through this new group removes the isolation that so often follows a diagnosis.
"Please give us a ring – you will be made very welcome."
