A NUMBER of dignitaries were in Seaford on Remembrance Sunday to pay their respects to those who lost their lives during the war.
Seaford Mayor Councillor Carolyn Lambert led the wreath laying at the war memorial, which saw some 40 wreaths laid down. The British Legion also took part in this part of the service and Sue Fears laid a Citizens Wreath.

The Seaford Silver Band opened the event at 10.40am, which saw town councillors and many key figures attend, as well as members of the public, who braved the weather conditions.

Dick McCully was parade marshall for the event. Squadron leader Peter Bonfield from RAFA was present, as were The Boys Brigade Band Standard Bearers ACF Scouts and scout and guide groups.

Following the wreath laying was the Last Post, a two minute silence and the National Anthem.

A march took place to St Leonard's Church where a service was held.
