THE hunt is on for the best photographic views of East Sussex.
Local photographers, be they amateurs, club members or professionals, are being invited to send in their favourite images of the county.
A wide range of high-resolution photographs are wanted, from landscapes to action shots, photographs of local produce, wildlife and people enjoying what East Sussex has to offer. Portrait images are particularly welcome.
Entries can be in film or digital format but should be of a high enough quality to be reproduced in A4 size.
The best pictures will feature in tourism marketing including the Enjoy Sussex 2009 visitor guide and its accompanying website, www.enjoysussex.info.
All those who take part will be entered into a prize draw for £250 of camera equipment.
The competition is being run by the Enjoy Sussex Partnership, a group of local councils — including Wealden and Lewes District Councils — which work together to promote tourism in the county.
Cllr Ron Cussons, Wealden District Council's cabinet member for community, said, "We take tremendous pride in the beautiful local countryside but at times it can be elusive to capture on camera.
"This is a great challenge for anyone interested in photography to record some of these wonderful views and places."
The closing date for entries is Tuesday August 26 at 12 noon.
An application form and terms and conditions can be downloaded from Wealden District Council's website — www.wealden.gov.uk/tourism_leisure_culture/tourism
Alternatively, phone 01892 602884 or e-mail regeneration@wealden.gov.uk
n Copies of the 2008 Enjoy Sussex Visitor Guide are available from local Tourist Information Centres, including Seaford.
Alternatively, you can request a copy of the guide from Wealden District Council on 01892 602887 or by e-mailing regeneration@wealden.gov.uk
