The publication Seven Sisters — The History Behind The View was written by Monty Larkin, who has memories of the famous location from childhood.
He fondly remembers family picnics at Exceat and was privileged when he secured a post of ranger at th
e then comparatively new Seven Sisters Country Park.
He said, "Inherently intrigued by local history, I became increasingly absorbed by Exceat's history and of the surrounding area. Having become somewhat preoccupied with the past, I started to delve into the annals of history; the catalyst came in the form of three people, one of whom Will Holter, had by this time already passed away, thus introducing an element of urgency to the matter.
"The other two persons were John Gascoigne, the country park's head ranger who had carried out a limited amount of research, and Will's sister Ester Miller, who had lived much of her life at Exceat."
Mr Larkin spent many years researching published work and spoke to Ester to gain more of an insight into the area.
He actually began putting pen to paper in the mid-1980s but with the first draft almost finished had a break for a number of years before finishing the piece.
The book signing will take place this Sunday (November 16) between 11am and 4pm at the Seven Sisters Country Park at Exceat. Monty will also be available to answer any questions.
