Eastbourne RNLI's third annual regatta took place at the weekend under blue skies and sunshine.
More than 1,000 people took part and organisers are hoping to raise more than £18,000.

As well as events on the water, on-land entertainment including a bar, barbecue, pig roast and live bands pulled in the crowds.

Children had the chance to try kayaking in the outer harbour where there was laso a fishing boat race, with crews dressed as pirates.

Paul Metcalfe, Eastbourne lifeboat operations manager, said, ''We have been really pleased by the numbers of people we have seen here over the weekend.

''All of the events are weather dependant and luckily we've been fortunate enough to have three days of sunshine.

''Everyone I've spoken to have said how much they've enjoyed themselves and above all we're raising funds for the RNLI here in Eastbourne.''
