Women from across the Eastbourne district donned their running shoes to raise money for Cancer Research UK in the Race for Life.
More than 2,000 women took part in the two five-kilometre events on Sunday at The Sports Park on Cross Levels Way, all hoping to smash the fundraising target of £106,000 - and have a great day out with family and friends too.

Many took part in teams, from businesses, pubs, families - or just groups of friends.

Since Race for Life began in 1994, women across the country have run, walked or jogged to raise over £140 million for Cancer Research UK.

It has grown to become the UK's biggest women-only fundraising event, and all the money raised by participants helps fund the crucial work of Cancer Research UK – the world's leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research.

This year the charity has a total fundraising target of £60 million bringing an amazing 800,000 women together to raise money for the organisation.
