Why making a will can help charity

I AM pleased to let your readers know that during November, our firm, Quality Solicitors Barwells, took part in Will Aid.

Will Aid is the UK’s top charity will-writing scheme. It offers everyone the opportunity to make or update their Will in return for a donation to help people in need in the UK and all over the world.

This money is shared by nine well-known UK charities: ActionAid, Age UK,British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF(Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland).

As part of the Will Aid campaign we drew up basic Wills for local people without charging our usual fee. In return for this service, the clients made a donation to WillAid.

We had a very busy and successful campaign and wrote X Wills for local people.

Their generous contributions mean that Quality Solicitors Barwells clients have raised around £7,000.00 for Will Aid.

An additional 25% will be added to this through the Gift Aid scheme, making a total of £8,750.00.

Nationwide, the scheme has had its best year ever raising  over £1.5 m to date.

We are proud that Quality Solicitors Barwells were involved.

The money that has been raised will make a real and lasting difference to the vulnerable children, families and older people with whom the Will Aid charities work .

We would like to thank all those clients who came to us during the Will Aid campaign, all of whom contributed to this fantastic total.
