Why Eastbourne’s Disability Involvement Group is a valuable commodity to our town

I write with reference to the recent 2013 Disability Road Show held in the Winter Garden Floral Hall organised by Eastbourne’s Disability Involvement Group (EDIG) in partnership with Eastbourne Borough Council and sponsored by AJM Healthcare.

Although I am a member of DIG and may be biased this year’s show has to be the most well attended to date. This was mainly due to all the help and assistance of two lovely ladies namely Monica and Clare from The Community Involvement Department of Eastbourne Borough Council and EBC who generously gave us the use of the Floral Hall to hold our exhibition.

As I helped to man the DIG Stand I had the opportunity of meeting many of our visitors which were coming right through to closing time.

Due to all the proposed cut backs now for people with disabilities it was good to hear that shows like ours are really welcome by being both informative and helpful and illustrating what help and advice is available in the Community.

I think EDIG is a valuable commodity to our town of Eastbourne and I am privileged to have been a member since its inception in 2007.
