Town must retain its historic ambience

FURTHER to Mr Armstrong’s letter re the future of the town, how right he is.

We should build on what we have, a lovely Victorian town with many lovely buildings.

Instead of a surfeit of coffee and mobile phone shops, more individual traders should be encouraged.

If/when the old Wish Tower cafe is developed, why not a smaller but proper traditional tea room?

Maybe with pleasant music (classical?) in the background. Pots of tea etc. and nice little sandwiches and a selection of cream cakes. Not over-priced, but something different to ordinary cafes.

Maybe a venue showing pictures by local artists, crafts, etc.

Horsham seems to have the right idea of preserving their historic buildings, and shops with fronts in keeping with the area.
