On behalf of all patients and staff at St Wilfrid’s Hospice, I would like to express heartfelt thanks to all volunteers that gave up their time during the recent cold snap and for their ongoing support.
Many walked for over an hour during the heavy snowfall to help out at hospice reception, serving meals to patients and helping with fundraising.
We have had a tough week, with our Hospice at Home team pulling out all the stops to visit as many patients as possible in their own homes wherever accessible.
Several major events were cancelled due to poor weather, including the much-loved Christmas Magic event, meaning that we have lost those opportunities to fundraise out in the community.
Had it not been for the help of volunteers, however, we would not have been able to provide the same level of care to our patients and their families.
Thank you all for your dedication and relentless support.
