Supporting adults abused as children

IN RESPONSE to last week’s front page headline, “Priests Arrested in Child Sex Investigation” I would like to make readers aware of the charity, The National Association for People Abused in Childhood.

NAPAC was established in 1997 and is now the key UK organisation solely focused on supporting adults who have been abused as children. Patrons include Sara Payne MBE, Jerry Hall and Esther Rantzen CBE.

NAPAC provides a telephone helpline free from a landline on 08000853330 or free from a mobile provided by O2, Vodaphone or T-mobile on 08088010331.

They can also be contacted via e-mail at support@napac.org.uk or by post at NAPAC, PO BOX 63632, London SW9 1BF.

The website www.napac.org.uk is an excellent resource and provides a range of booklets to request or download on topics such as ‘You are not alone’ and ‘Untangling the Web’.

Although NAPAC has received some National Lottery funding they still require financial support to continue their good works. Donations of time and money are gratefully received.
