A SENIOR citizen and full-time pedestrian, I’m always moaning about cyclists who ride on the pavement.
I regularly walk from the Harbour to town via the seafront.
From the Water Treatment plant to Fishermen’s Green a white line divides the path for cyclists and walkers.
I’m always amazed by the amount of people, sometimes with very young children, who walk on the cycle track without due care or attention.
Quite frankly they don’t seem bothered by their actions, and won’t even move when a cyclist comes along.
Can I suggest if it is the intention of Eastbourne Borough Council to continue this shared path towards Holywell, they put in place a more physical barrier between pedestrians and cyclists; a white line doesn’t appear to work, not in Eastbourne anyway!
