LETTER: White knights in a red car

I would like to take this opportunity to thank two ‘Good Samaritans’ in a red car.

I was turning into Granville Road and managed to hit the projecting kerb. Two young men had just parked their red car and came over immediately. They man-handled our car into a space along the road and proceeded to change the wheel. Unfortunately I had bent the axle and I still couldn’t drive the car.

They then used their mobile phone to report the car’s whereabouts to our garage and insisted upon driving me, my husband, and six bags of shopping to our home.

They would accept nothing for their kindness and I would like publicly to give them our sincere thanks.
