LETTER: Unpleasant and untruthful

There seems to be a concerted campaign by Lib-Dem supporters against our sitting MP Caroline Ansell which is becoming very unpleasant and untruthful.

Several correspondents have claimed Mrs Ansell has achieved little in her first year as MP. Clearly they have not seen her newspaper she has circulated to all constituents which gives a breakdown of what she has done.

Included in this list are: her opposition to her own Government’s policies regarding Tax Credits and cuts to Disability Benefits; voting against an extension of Sunday Trading in order to protect a further erosion to family life; vocal defence of women’s pension rights (she is now vice-chair of an All Party Group on State Pension Age); successfully opposing the Government’s attempt to force all schools to become academies; campaigning successfully for an American mother threatened with deportation to remain in this country with her British husband and daughter. The list could go on.

Why do some Lib-Dem supporters spread untruths? I am sure Stephen Lloyd would want to disassociate himself from such negative tactics. I am, by the way, not a Conservative Party member but merely someone who dislikes an obvious injustice.
