LETTER: The kindness of a stranger

Recently our beautiful cat Minnie died in a road accident in Langney. I can’t describe how much we miss her. She made us laugh every single day and she was so affectionate.

She was one of the family and we feel so very sad that she is no longer with us.

On that day, Monday July 18, there was a gentleman that not only witnessed the accident but actually took the time to stop. This kind stranger picked Minnie up and took her to the local vet.

I have since spoken to the gentleman. His name is Mat Crossland and he was an Eastbourne paramedic for 20 years. I would like to tell him again how so very grateful we are that even moments after Minnie died, she was treated with such kindness.
