LETTER: Take on charity challenge

I’m writing to call on your readers to take on an amazing challenge by joining Team Diabetes UK at this year’s Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 cycling event. The deadline to ride for Diabetes UK is 6th May, so there’s not long left to secure your ride.

In Sussex, there are 80, 000 people diagnosed with diabetes, as well as a further estimated 26,000 who have Type 2 diabetes but don’t know it. Diabetes is a serious condition that can lead to devastating complications such as blindness, kidney failure, heart disease, stroke and amputation.

By joining Team Diabetes UK at this year’s Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100, riders will be raising money to support people with diabetes as well as helping to identify those undiagnosed.

Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 is an amazing event. The race begins in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and goes into the stunning Surrey countryside, before finishing right in front of Buckingham Palace, in front of thousands of supporters.

If you would like to ride for Diabetes UK, then contact the Events Fundraising team on 0345 123 2399 or email events.fundraising@diabetes.org.uk
