LETTER: Return of community spirit in Hampden Park

As you reported (thank you by the way), we held a little gathering in Brassey Parade to celebrate 127 years of our signal box being in service. The locals (on what historically has been disastrous for local traders when the gates are closed) turned out in droves, had some burgers and sausages, and really supported the local traders. I feel this is the first step to a rebirth of the community spirit here, and we’re planning more events for the future. Thank you to all the residents who came and supported us traders, and ensuring we have a high street in the village for many years to come.
