LETTER: Pier politics – two sides of the same coin

Mr and Mrs Hilton are spot on with their comments on the crass opportunism of the Tories re the visit to Eastbourne after the pier fire.

However, this links in with Mr Samuels’ letter asking what our MP has done for Eastbourne. As we now know, the Tories and Lib Dems are two sides of the same coin so no surprise then that Mr Lloyd has consistently voted for the government in supporting the Health and Social Care Act which is resulting in the destruction of the NHS (in obvious conflict with his involvement in the Save the DGH campaign), the Bedroom Tax and the privatisation of Royal Mail.

He has voted against greater regulation of gambling, thinks pay day loan companies don’t need their rates to be capped, is against a mansion tax, voted against charities being allowed to campaign during elections etc etc. The list is endless – visit the web site www.theywork for you.com to get the full depressing picture.

The best option for those residents who voted Lib Dem and got Tory is to vote Labour at the next election and make a real difference.
