LETTER: Pain for now '“ or pain forever
The option council Leader David Tutt is offering the people of Eastbourne, that of cutting public services or selling the downland farms, is the difference between a choice of pain for now, or pain forever.
Government funding comes and goes. A future Government might restore council funding, a different council might find the necessary savings elsewhere, but once sold the downland farms will be lost forever to us and to our future generations.
Credit to Cllr Tutt for giving us a say on our future. We must make sure we use it wisely.
