LETTER: Out of touch with concerns

Diana Crook is right to object to the proposed redevelopment of The Buckle Car Park in Seaford for housing (Letters). This extraordinary development would remove the only car parking and public toilets from the western end of the promenade where there is no alternative on-street parking available.

It beggars belief that the Lewes District Council could propose this and demonstrates how out of touch the council, based 10 miles away from Seaford, has become. Perhaps the district council would be better broken up with its powers devolved to the various town councils where there is some semblance of democracy and being in touch with local concerns.
