LETTER: Intervention not the answer

Eastbourne’s MP has issued a statement in support of UK intervention in Syria. On a number of occasions in recent years, the UK has intervened in the peculiarly complex affairs of the Middle East. It would be difficult to cite any instance, with the very dubious exception of the Iraq-Kuwait war, in which the consequences of that intervention remotely justified the loss of life and property which resulted. Why does she think that Syria will be any exception?
