LETTER: How I miss the place I love

Have your say

I came home to Eastbourne from Canada in April, for a visit with my sisters. Since we are now all in our 70s I always wonder if it will be my last time, be it because we are getting older, or plain affordability!

I miss them, and Eastbourne, a lot. My sisters both live in the town and one of the things I loved was being able to walk everywhere and not to have to rely on a car. It was 10 minutes to the seafront, 10 minutes to the mall, 10 minutes to the railway station and buses, 10 minutes to restaurants and coffee places! I particularly loved being able to buy my wines and spirits at any grocery outlet, be it the corner store or one of the larger food outlets. Thought you might be interested in how I found Eastbourne after 49 years being away. It’s great!
