LETTER: Help revive an old tradition

For many years a group of singers has sung carols to diners at two local hotels on Christmas Eve from 6.30pm, raising money for the children’s charity Action for Children, formerly known as NCH.

This charity assists children who are abused, bullied, suffering physical defects and unable to live with their birth parents. Working closely with Social Services, they support more children and their families in the UK than any other charity.

These carols are very much enjoyed by the guests who give generously, and by the hotel managements. Last year it was not possible to do this due to a lack of personnel available, but would very much like to resume it this year.

If anyone can sing or play accordian/guitar and can spare an hour to join us it would be very much appreciated.

I’m the local fundraiser and for more information call 01323 737853 as soon as possible.
